District 8 Report for August 2008:
On August 18, District 8 experienced a significant loss to our ranks. Our District Director, Bill Coffee handed over the reigns of our group. The Pennsylvania Trappers’ Association will reap the gains of his talents and leadership as we strive to maintain the focus he put in place. As the new District Director, my goal is to continue down the path already set. Our next district meeting is scheduled for September 14 at 1:00 PM. The meeting will be held at Lake Land’Or, near Ladysmith, VA. I’ll send a meeting flyer with directions to District 8 members next week. Please bring a covered dish and/or dessert to supplement the grill. Once we see a break in the food consumption, we’ll start with the official business.
There are a few issues before us that need discussion and a district stance. Also, I’m interested in your opinion in what we can do to improve the association and our district. The more input the better so please try to attend the meeting so we can hear from you.
We welcome two new members to the district; Jim Longo and
Jim Wyeems, courtesy of Bill Coffee. It’s my understanding that Jim & Jim have
limited trapping experience (the old timers legacy trappers seem to say
that about everyone though) so if you are inclined to demonstrate a technique,
please bring the supplies to do so. In the spirit of always looking for a deal,
bring anything you would like sell or trade to the meeting.
